Oh my goodness, my box of blue magic arrived. The colors are so vibrant, and there are some gemstone based ones as well (mmm...Lapis Lazuli blue). An assortment of blues from Kremer. I can't wait to use these on something.
Perhaps on the Iron Khan painting that's waiting to get started.
Such beautiful colors! I'm having fun just looking at them :) I can hardly wait to see what magic you will create with them, enjoy!
ReplyDeleteLooks beautiful; I can't wait to see what wonderful pictures you paint with them.
ReplyDeleteWow...just gorgeous. I, too, can't wait to see them in your artwork.
ReplyDeleteOn another note : Has anyone ever had your work converted into a tattoo? I would love to see that, if so...
Can't stop looking at all the colours :)
ReplyDeleteLooking at those lovely blues kinda' makes you want to roll in them like a cat wallowing in bed of catnip.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I do a lot of tattoo commissions, and I let people use my existing work as well, as long as they check with me first.
ReplyDeleteAnd haha yeah, like a cat!
Those... are just beautiful colors. There's no doubt you'll make good use of them.
ReplyDeleteQ: How do you incorporate them into your watercolor paintings? Do you mix them into a paint paste or just add water and gum arabic/honey to some pigment dust?
Yes I would love to know how you use them too, since I'm thinking about changing to pigments. To you need a artificial medium like for acrylics and oils or is water enough?
ReplyDeleteOhh I must fawn over your blues now! That is the exact set I keep eying over at their website. Just beautiful stuff! But OH so pricey. I imagine they're totally worth it, though!
ReplyDeleteI haven't bought any paints in so long Angela, I figured it's about time for a splurge!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, you just mix gum arabic and water
ReplyDeleteA worthy splurge! I think I will do the same at some point when it's a splurgy kind of day. That Blue set is to DIE for. I can't wait to see what you do with it.:)
ReplyDeleteI would love to work with these pigments too! In order to mix them, are they equal amounts of each to mix? Or does Kremer give you a recipe for the mixture, etc. I can't wait to see the magic you will weld!
ReplyDeleteDo you mix your own colors often, or do you prefer to simply have a vast range of pigments available for you to use?
