Inking Distractions

Holed up with a nasty cold. Mostly over it by now at least. Constantly sneezing and feeling generally miserable has made it hard to concentrate on Work.

So, bit of a self-distraction to play with this sidelong personal project. What these little drawings are for, I'll keep as a surprise for now, since I'm still not certain I'll be able to find a printer suitable to my needs for this one just yet. We'll see. Meanwhile, inking's always good fun for me.

(Skeletal snake and birds in that second one a bit of Socar Myles inspiration.)

  1. omg I love these.....you should do a book on ink after you are finished with the one you're working on

  2. I really love these pieces. They remind me of works you'd find in old story books (ie: Snow White). I'd love to see them with a poem handwritten on them (with that beautiful flowing script that you can hardly read ^^).

    Very nicely done.

  5. These seem to have a spooky bent, all save for the last one. Looking forward to seeing what they are all about!

  6. Beautiful. I agree with Amber. They look like they would go well with a story written to the side. However you choose to use them, they are lovely. :)

  7. I love these but I have to say I am partial to the bottom right image for numerous reasons. These would make beautiful pages corners in a book and/or stationary. If you make as stationary to sell I might have to buy a few reams lol

  8. Ditto to that - this would be wonderful as stationery - some lovely thick tactile paper. Oooo :)

  9. Had a lot of request for stationary, so I'll definitely look into that. Would you guys like it to be a variety of the the different images, or sold as a set of individual any one of these (ie, for a set of 10 sheets one of each --there will be more images; or 10 of the same)?

And yay for getting some spookiness in. Trying to integrate more of that into my pieces.

  10. A variety. Then we could enjoy them all. But if you do go individual, I like the last image best. :)

  11. These are gorgeous, They'd make a great pad of note paper. I especially love the one with the dark figure.

  13. Ohh you tempt us with your glimpse of future projects. As someone has guessed already, I can see these as an aside to really creepy fairy tale shorts. I particularly like the one you posted on DA where the figure is formed from the smoke coming from the box. A bit Pandora-esqe perhaps?

The macabre part of me absolutely loves these. Hope that cold leaves you soon! Tis the season for allergies and head colds abound, it seems. Just getting over a bout with one myself. So hard to work on art and writing when your brain is against you.
