Ideas & Requests?

Llewellyn is asking me to write an article regarding the Shadowscapes Tarot (making of, or any random related topic) for their journal, and I'm brainstorming for ideas. If anyone has specific questions, requests, or suggestions, I'm happy to hear it!

Also, my editor has told me that they've got the sample cards back from the printer. I'm dying to see them! At this point, I'm as eager as the rest of you to see the final product.

  1. oh, wow! I love your tarot series =D I can't wait to see them printed up either!

Hmm... I'd like to see or hear about the creative process you went through with the cards, interpreting the meaning into your own image. That would be interesting =)

  2. Thanks for the suggestions! I'll be sure to try and address them in the minor arcana art book even if I don't get to them for this article!

  3. I may be too late to add to this discussion, but just in case I'm not, might I suggest a discussion on your reasons for choosing to stray away from the traditional imagery (and of course your creative process on the whole).

I'm at the point myself where I'm torn between the traditional medieval imagery, which is all in good fun in and of itself, or delving into my own distant interpretations, which are perhaps less recognizable, but could be much fun.

  4. At some point I would like to do a deck (have wanted to for years now, being a wannabe tarot reader), but I'm still in the process of trying to decide what to do.

I've had requests for an angel-themed deck, leanings towards a traditional deck, and also a character-themed deck (based off of characters of my own).

So it's definitely not something I'll be doing till I can make some decisions one way or the other! That's why your books and thoughts have been so grand in helping to get my gears going.
