Wheeeee...new colors!
Package arrived in the mail for me on Saturday. Another big batch of that Elderflower purple I love, as well as an array of some others to play with. No doubt the non-artists reading this are not nearly as excited as I am. But what can I say, doesn't take much for me!Did a mini piece (Glimmer, above) just to try out the new colors and see what I've got here now, and I'm rather pleased with their intensity, as well as the smoothness with which they blend.
Where do you purchase your paints from?

ReplyDeleteWhoa... A subtle difference... but, wow. I love the colors. Hope to see more with these soon. I can't really tell from the pic but the pigments look dry. Is that right??

ReplyDeletePowder is essentially the same as cake, just powderized, right? You tap a little bit on your pallete, add water, and have the same effect? Or is there more to it?

ReplyDeleteThey look a little more muted and dulled to me, but they give an interesting sort of texture. I might have to look into those one day, although I'm very attached to my super-cheap tube paints for now...

ReplyDeleteThe only thing that gets me more excited than new colors is a fresh brand new blank art pad! My mind always swims with the possibilities of what awesomeness should greet any viewer on the first page and I can't wait to devirginize it.
ReplyDeleteOr sometimes the first page just sits empty while I fill up the rest till I can think of something appropriate for the front. A silly quirk of mine XD
I'm with others who are fascinated by that sparkle of blue on the left. What pigment is that? I may be able to convince a friend of mine in Germany to pick some up for me as well at some point.
The pigment for that blue is called Red Cabbage, #36312 in their catalog:
