Jing Wei Bird Sketch (Final)

Here she is again, ready to be painted now.

I did another painting based on this story almost 10 years ago now (yikes that went by fast)!
Here's the older version.
Strangely, though I remembered doing this older version, I didn't recall the pose at all when I sketched this new one; and yet she's still more or less in the same attitude, though viewed from a different angle!

  1. Thank you Stephanie for showing us your scetches just before you start painting them. They are so amazing to see, and so beautiful and detailed in their own right!
I have to ask you where you have found information about all these myths and magical creatures you write about in "Dreamscapes 2"? Can you recommend any books or maybe any site on internet? You have inspired me...

  2. I have to say, I bought your tarot cards, and they have so much insight, and that my dear id due to you. A good example is; you are the first to have the death card as the phoenix, the rebirth... it is amazing. Most people at first glance can't see the death card as anything but scary-- you show them that the end of something is the start of something else. You are a remarkably talented individual and I hope that you are aware how much your gifts mean to those who follow your work. Simply brilliant. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for putting your work out to be seen.
