I have an unrelated question, if that's OK. How would you set about painting smoke coming out of a cigar? Would you use light gray/white color, or would you lift some of the background color to achieve the smoke effect?
You see, I'm making a painting of my girlfriend's guinea pig for her birthday. The pig's name is Freud (she's a psychologist hence the name) and I will do a portrait of him with the real Sigmund Freud's hat and a cigar to give him a funny feel.
