I heard that a lot ...Yeah, it's not completely new. I heard that a lot of Seattle and Portland has been turned into living roofs. Its purpose is two-fold. It's aesthetic - much nicer to look out your office building next door and see greenery instead of slate and shingle and gravel. And secondly it takes rainwater and instead of sending it into runoff or into sewers, it goes into the plantlife on the rooftop. Also I hear it makes pretty good insulation.Stephanie Pui-Mun Lawhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04247973137648475585noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5694386010612422591.post-15973910136330877722009-03-12T14:34:00.000-07:002009-03-12T14:34:00.000-07:00Thanks for the glimpse of the living roof. I think it was a house, also in California, on a hillside. The architect had created a "lawn" on the roof with a kitchen garden. Who says utilitarian efficiency has to be boring. ;)Amy Skidmorehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02026167102538585708noreply@blogger.com
